    hello,
i have a library of 15-40 sec qt files exported from fce as dv-pal with no audio, these are currently sat on my hard drive as i need fast access to them for daily fce projects,
problem is their taking up too much room so rather than put them onto mini dv tape can i burn them to dvd as separate qt files in relevant folders?i use fce and toast 6,i got dvd sp2 on order as well if that will help,if not, what software will do this?can't see toast 6 being much use here.
    thanks in advance
    luke

If you want to store these files in their current format and organized within folders, just use the Toast Data tab, drag in the folders and burn the DVD. It will be a data disc, not a movie DVD, but that's what I understand you're wanting to create.

the method of burning a DATA DVD results in the files just being stored on the dvd disk instead of your HD

lots of people (including myself) use DATA DVD to retian files but not have them be on the HD (as they are now stored on the disk)

just put in the blank dvd, open toast, choose DATA and set your format to MAC & PC. Then click NEW DISC and tile the dvd. now just start dragging your files into toast's window and burn

resulting dvd is data dvd, not video dvd
it can be accessed at any time just like a hd as long as its in the drive
