OT, but this guy named Mike Rowe put up a web page advertising his software business and called it Mike Rowe Soft.com. Microsoft sued him to stop using the name and will probably win :P

they've settled with him, due to the bad publicity. and he even made money on eBay, auctioning off the documentation!

Glad to hear that Microsoft wasn't able to push him around. He wasn't intentionally trying to divert business from Microsoft ...that happens to be his name.

The Quiznos commercials are the best! They have won so many awards that its unbelievable. And their subs are better than anyone else's even if they have roadkill singing songs in their advertising.

I have to say, I liked the older Quizno's commercials, especially the "pants instead of bushes" and "raised by wolves" ones, much better than the spong monkeys they have shilling for them now...

Not true...blimpies is better. Since my dad bought one, I cant get enough of it(even though it's been years since he bought it). Especially their blimpies best and blackened chicken w/ provolone cheese.

The Fed Ex commercial where the guys are talking like Captain Kurk saying "Or we're doomed". Hilarious

That one is my current favorite commercial... I have to try and get a good capture of that one... we use Fedex air and ground for truckloads of shipments every day at work and this commercial would be a good representation of the flakey head shipping managers and supervisors.... "We're all DOOMED!!!!!!"

Most annoying ANYTIME: any political ad that focuses negativity on someone... I hate those, I don't care if I like or dislike the candidate. They all need to spend more time and energy on attacking real issues and not each others parties and ideas....

Worst commercials:

The pharmaceutical ads that mention side-effects, like pills that clear up depression but could cause brain aneurisms. Wouldn't that really depress you?

The GEICO gecko ads. All of them.

Anything with Jared in it (Subway "diet" subs). He's probably gone off the wagon and is as big as Montana, but they keep running old footage

Douche, feminine pads, feminine spray, herpes pills (mentioned already), Viagra and herbal wood-enhancer ads (mentioned: "Hey Bill, you look different" :P )

Any car ad that shows some lunatic having a ball driving a grocery-getter 85 down a winding mountain road, and at the bottom in tiny print: "Professional drivers". Good message for our 16-year-olds

Best Commercials:

The guy writing notes with his address and putting them in bottles. A guy stranded on a desert island keeps getting them ...they're useless! He gets rescued and goes to the guy's house. The guy opens the door and the rescued dude clocks him

Clara Peller Wendy's ads ("Where's the beef?")

The Pepsi commercial where Austin Powers punches Britney Spears (always a good thing)

The Taco Bell dog until the 10th time you saw them, then they got annoying.

The GEICO gecko ads. All of them.

I've never seen them but strangely I know what your talking about. Is that the one where its something to do with a phone call for GEICO but the gecko gets it instead ? If so then its the same ad that Doug Stanhope (american comedian) does a gag about.

I hate all adverts, but at the moments I loathe car adverts, any of em. Utter shit that tells you nothing about the £20,000 car they want you to buy.

Most annoying commercial (infomercial actually) is the 1 hour long Girls Gone Wild Infomercial. Its so bad I've seen it the last 4 mornings from 5:00am till 6:00am....(Hopes it on tomorrow )

Does anyone remember the one where a guy is watching a commercial for a drug company he just bought stock of?

In the cmmercial it says the drug will cure everything but sideeffects could be like: possesed by the devil, hair loss, death, etc.... Really funny. The guy then promptly sells all of his shares.

I think it was for one of those online stock trading sites.

There are two other infamous commercials I remember:

Azara- The body hair removal jel! .
The commercial showed this purpley goo that removed hair after being applied to it. I think it even showed a guys back hair being removed! UGH!!!!!!!!


The velvetta - cheddar plops commercial -
This one showed cheddar all chopped up and ugly dropping on to a platter of some type. Of course the Velvetta was perfectly smooth. Anyone who had an upset stomach while watching this commercial just wanted to throw up!
