.DAT??????????????

Im new to this so please help!!!! I have a film which is in .DAT format, its on 2 discs. I use Nero 6 to back up most stuff but i have no idea on what to do about these files. if you can help me, it'll be much appreciated.
Also i have another film which is in .VOB format, any idea on what to do here???

What do you want to make vcd, svcd, dvd

Well, your .dat is probably VCD format and your .vob is probably DVD format. You might want to study the 'What is' guides to the left about VCD and DVD properties.

Yeah with the .dat you could probably get away with renaming it .mpg I do it with .dat files off my vcd on my laptop so I can view them with media player (well actually I just right click them and open with media player). If it will load into media player like that chances are it is from a vcd.
