  5. Hey Yeshi

Why don't you lighten up. Not everyone is perfect. The idea is to keep people coming to the forum, not to run them away when they read comments like you just made about the caps lock.

  7. kawapiro: your problem has nothing to do with you video card.

It is not very easy for anyone to answer your problem in a few sentences when you ask the way you do. You do not say what you are encoding, you do not say what settings or filters you use etc. etc.
If you want good help, then at least give people a clue what you whant to do, and what you are doing today.

In short: To get optimal quality encoding from TMPGEnc every time you will have to get down and learn more about TMPGEnc and MPEG encoding.
Then you can stop using the templates and set your own settings that give you sufficient quality.
    This is also known as "the hard way" (-;

There are a lot of guides on this website and others all over the web, like http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/index.html
Maybe you can try this link for starters: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencexplained.htm

  9. OK! From what i understand, you may have a problem with blockyness or so called macroblocks in parts of your encoding. Right?

This is probably due to too small bitrate during fast sequences of your movie, there are a few things you can do to prevent this:

#1 Increase encoding bitrate, go to the tools section of this website and find a tool called SVCDcalc (if it is SVCDs you are trying to make) This tool will let you find your optimal bitrate for your encoding. Insert the bitrate you calculate and insert into Rate control on the Video tab of TMPGenc.

#2 This might not be an option for you, but; Decrease the resolution, if you are making SVCD you could make nonstandard XVCDs instead.

#3 Use 2 pass Variable Bitrate encoding, find it under the same Rate Control Mode as with #1. This can be slow, but thats often the price to pay for good quality.

#4 Increase Motion search precision (bottom on video tab)
The higher you set this, the slower the encoding becomes.

Play with these features, combine them, and use the source range option on Advanced tab, to just encode a small test clip to ensure that you have the quality you are looking for.
Remember that if you set all features to the max, the encoding will take a *lot* of time, so you might want to experiment to find the optimal speed, while mantaining a good quality level.
This will be more easy as you learn to use the features.

    Good luck!
