I'll try to explain myself were I could be understood. I would normally use TMPGENC to convert my avi files to MPEG2 with a resolution of 720x480 or 704x480 and then use Ulead DVD Movie factory2 to create and burn the dvd. The burning proccess would be: Multiplexing the video, creating the dvd files and then burning. Now when I would use CCE to create the mpeg2 files and load them into dvd movie factory, it first has to convert the files. The only time that I would have the same problem after using TMPGENC is when I would use a resolution other than 720x480, 704x480, 352x480, and 352x240. unLike TMPGENC, CCE does not have any resolution options to choose from. I thought that it may be the script that I used (I use moviestacker to create scripts) to cause CCE not to convert the files with my perfered resolution. But I loaded the same script into TMPGENC and and it created a mpeg2 that didn't need to be converted by dvd movie factory.
Basically what I'm asking is, How can I avoid having to convert the mpeg2 files that were encoded by CCE?
Sorry for the long post, but can someone help me out here

  2. Jeez, you posted this in the NOOB section?

You sound like you know what you doing!

Most noobs ask thing like: "What's an aspect ratio?" or "How do I fit 6 dvds on one dvdr?"
Boy do I love my avatar!

  3. You must feed proper sized content into cce, period. It wont resize. When you use tmpgenc, it has the capability to resize for you.

May I suggest frameserving from virtualdubmod using it's resizing filter, or even better, avisynth frameserving.
Or if that's too confusing a big fat nasty huffyuv resized midway step.

I had the same problem.....it turned out that the problem was not with the video from CCE but with the audio format, which MovieFactory does not consider to be DVD compliant. I changed the audio format in CCE to 384Kbits/s and 48000Hz (the same as I was using with TMPEG) and MovieFactory accepted it without re-encoding.
There is another issue with CCE with regards to using VBR, which is mentioned on the Cinema Craft website...basically the file header makes the file appear to be non-compliant. I haven't found out how to make MovieFactory accept a non-compliant file without re-encoding, so I use TMPG DVD author for those files.
Having been a long time TMPGEnc fan, I must admit that I like the speed of the Cinema Craft Encoder, and I can't really see much quality difference compared to TMPGEnc.
The future is much like the present, only longer.
