Hello,
I have an AVI that looks like it's supposed to be in 4:3 but maybe was captured from a 16:9 screen(?). Everything is stretched width-wise and the then there are black bars, like letterboxing, on top and bottom.
What I'm trying to do is "squish" the sides back in and basically resize to a 4:3 aspect ratio.
What I'm using is the 'Clip Frame' feature in TMPEnc which seems to be doing what I want.
My question is, does the Clip Frame feature truly just resize the aspect ratio or am I actually trimming part of the picture off the sides (pan & scan type thing)?
Secondly, is this the best way to handle a stretched video like this?
Thanks,
Tim

As long as you are just adjusting the height of the video and not the length then you are not cropping out anything on the sides and this method is one of the best ways to do what you are doing.

I guess that's what I'm trying to verify... that the Clip Frame function in TMPGEnc is only stretching the video, not cutting it.
Thanks for the response.
