If you are using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2, then please know that version 2.0 of the program does not support the AC-3 audio utilized by the majority of stand alone DVD player/recorders models.
I have a Toshiba D-R1:
http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/dvr/product.asp?model=D-R1
When I import video from the DVD_RTAV folder recorded by the Toshiba unit, I see the following properties:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order B
(DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
Video data rate: Constant (9000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
AC-3 Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)
Therefore, I would recommend that you consider the upgrade to the new "Disc Creator" version 3.0 of Ulead DVD MovieFactory:

The "Disc Creator" version supports AC-3 sound.
