Anyone??? I'm sure someone can answer this

And guys, I suggest you get webcams, start Netmeeting, then whip 'em out to end your NOOB argument. Either that, or stop relying on postcount/date registered to decide who "new(b)er"

Back on topic: I like Nero for straight burning. I usually author with something else (Ulead DWS) then get flawless burns with Nero 6. Also, most of my music is self-made/mixed, so it's in wav form already, so no re-encoding even for that. Again, perfect burns.

I don't think anyone was *relying* on postcount or date to decide who's new. It can merely be one indication. Some other (hypothetical) indications might be things like:

    - Person J assuming that person K is new based the fact that person K doesn't like person J's favorite burning software. Or based on the fact that person K doesn't get exactly the same results using certain software as person J (that would really indicate new to computers in general- not just DVDs).

    - or Person J says something like "Don't blame software for user error." without knowing what version of the software has been used, what system, what the other person has actually done. (And if person J's implication happened to be right then perhaps it would explain why person J didn't like other software that many people get good results with.)

Of course I could be wrong- maybe none of that indicates "new"- could just indicate experienced stupidity or ignorance.

Dude, Person K don't get the same results Person J does because Person K don't know how to use it. If Person K did they would know how to change the disc label. If Person K's version had a bug in it they would know to download a free upgrade to a different version. If they didn't know you could do this then Person K is a nOOb.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Might I add that postcount and Joining Date mean absolutely F*** all when deciding if someone is a noob. All it reflects on is as to when they decided they needed assistance or when they decided to share their knowledge.
    If in doubt, Google it.

And if person J couldn't get results from RecordNow just as good as those from Nero, then person J would be exactly what we already know he is.

Most agreed.... to bad some people don't realize that it almost takes longer to start a thread and type in the questions than type in the forum search and get pretty much instantaniously get the answers one needs... and if not the answers, more input to refine and ultimatly find the answer....

You think that my stats are respective of my knowledge - DOUBT it... Probably don't have YOUR grasp of all things related here at this site but I do ok by myself without posting crap threads and wasting other peoples time with sh*t posts...
Like yours, which made NO point at all...
FYI: A previous post of yours basically stated that there was no correlation between n00bstatus/post count and actual knowledge...

Yeah, I agree. I'm at the end of a bunch of free trials and I was thinking about posting a "What's your favorite DVD Authoring software" thread to help me make my decision.

So to make this post not a total waste of time, I like TMPGEnc DVD Author. I tried and liked DVDLab but there's no audio during the video preview (which you use to set your chapter points). I use Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 SE for capture but I don't like the authoring setup because moving around inside a movie to set chapter points is, for me, too slow.

I think I might go ahead and purchase TMPGEnc DVD Author tonight...

The point I made is that there are too many people giving advice that is sometimes incorrect. People point out the mistruths and get jumped on by people who can't accept or admit that they are wrong.

Good on you for having enough knowledge to get by.

I can get exactly the same results from RecordNow. In fact, I learnt how to use that first before I switched to Nero. Be a bit more tolerant.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  13. I thank everyone for their reply & yes, i could have searched the guides on the website but the whole point of a forum is to gauge other people`s views & opinion`s because not everyone has the same opinion, this backed up as there has been several different programs suggested.
Although yes i`m new here i do think the people who was moaning that it was a typical newbie question then i question why they are even on the newbie forum as obviously users like me will want more simple questions answered.

Anyway, does nero 6 allow dvd creation?, because my friend says his doesn`t.

My opinion on Nero is that it's a very comptent CD/DVD burning software. Let's leave it at that, and let other application handle the rest of the stuff related to video-on-disc business, like encoding, authoring and such.
