a silly question i guess, well maybe not if its keeps the kids away from the pc, using the tv out on my gfx card ive connected it to the tv close by , using an s-video calbe to a coverter and a normal co-ax cable to tv, question is can i use the same method using a longer co-ax or s-video cable to go to the tv down stairs for the kids cartoons?????? or is there a limit as to how long the cable can be as is the case with lan cables, ????
anything to keep the kids and their greesy mits off my kit!!!!

Hi,
I dont know about s video cable.
However as far as i am aware co -ax can go for quite some distance, and although as you would expect you loose some quality with distance, it is relatively minimal.
What you would need to be careful is with any other cables, and how they cross the co-ax (right angles is best), and dont make loops or tie knots etc in the coax.
I know that sounds stupid, but in the boarding house at the school i went to they took the coax cable from the aerial and tied a knot in it because it was too long, and this kinda plays silly buggers with the signal....
