My DVD Player doesn't have Dolby Surround(Dolby Pro-Logic I/II) decoding capabilities. Is there any app which can process a 2-channel Dolby Suround soundtrack using Dolby Pro-Logic I or II aglorithm and convert it into a Dolby Digital file containing 4 channels, in case of Dolby Pro-Logic I or 6 (5.1) channels in case of Dolby Pro-Logic II?

DVD Players don't decode prologic .. your reciever does ...

but for what you want to do -- you would have to record in real time a decoded stream , then re-encode it ..

so you would require a prologic decoder anyway which make the whole thing redundent ..

    but you could just either
    A. leave it as as play stereo
    B. get a reciever
    C. re-encode it as ac3 2ch (rather pointless unless you need some space) .
    D. remix the 2ch to 5.1 ac3 (rather pointless unless you have the original stubs and some good mixing chops and mixing surround system- a modern surround reciever can do a better job of fake surround in most cases (though i generally hate it))

when encoding my laserdiscs which have dolby surround tracks i encode to stereo AC3. i use the ac3 encoder from scenarist, and this has an option to flag the ac3 file as dolby surround encoded. this will make your dolby digital amplifier automatically process the surround information.
