Homemade Portable Video Light?

Is there a way to make a homemade portable video light? I want to film some night footage and I need a considerably bright light. I can't really afford a proper video light attachment at the moment, so I'm trying to find a way to make one. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have to subscribe to DV, are you talking about the March or April issue? The last issue I received was March, and canot find the article. I think it may make for an interesting project.

I still am waiting for my April issue, but the issue is posted on the web site, however no article about building a portable lighting fixture. If you find it, please post the link.
