Damn Man...where do you live?? That's some kind of desperate thief right there. I didn't realize there was a large black market for baby strollers and car seats.

I wish I would have seen you catching him in the act...I would have helped.

I bet if you had caught him, he would have swore blind he wasn't trying to steel it.

Isn't it odd to think that you'd actually have felt better about the break-in had they stolen stereo equipment or expensive stuff in the car? That in itself is just strange

  5. I was lucky enough to catch someone trying to break into my place. Its hard to explain, but in my apartment, right next to the main door is a window into one of the bedrooms. My roommate was not living there yet, so I had boxes and stuff in there. I left the window open because it was summer and hotter than hell..4am, my girl wakes up to a noise. I have never been in such a situation, but my reaction was to get my baseball bat. It sounded as though he was trying to pry the bars off the window...so I opened the front door ready to break his legs, when I noticed he was actually stuck...his arm was caught between the bars reaching for a box.

Well, I stood there and laughed and told him if he moved I would break his knees. The police came and that was the end of it. It felt good...but it wouldve felt better if I couldve used the bat.

Homeless people who have mental disorders and will f*** over anyone they have to to get what they want. Be glad you don't live in my neighborhood.

  8. I can buy a couple of 100-disc packs of Taiyo Yuden DVDs for what a stroller and baby seat cost nowadays!

I had a 1990 Camaro in college. 5.7-Liter V8, T-Tops, Cherry Red, black interior, the total "Hello, I'm Indolikaa, wanna get a drink and head back to my place?" package. Some punk-ass stole the stereo one night but got scared off by the alarm and only got the CD player in the dash.

He came back a few hours later and tried to hit the neighbor's car. It's a good thing my neighbor couldn't shoot straight without his glasses.

94 and just turned 60,000 miles. I want to get rid of it before the resell price goes even lower and I accumlulate too many miles......

  13. I live in central California...about 40 miles south of Fresno (Visalia). We get scumbags knocking at my door asking me to buy candy bars all the time....I can never tell if they are legit, or trying to see what's in the house. And I live on the NICE part of town

I was thinking about putting out a sign that says, "To the ******* who broke into my car, I hope you die!!!"

lol...it would'nt be the first time I've put a sign in the yard :P

    Maybe it was Jeex....

Had a car stereo stolen many many years ago. In college someone broke in and tried unsuccessfully to get the stereo out.

More recently (2000) someone broke into my car which was in the driveway. They must have used a slim-jim because there was no damage. The item they stole - a used flashlight. They'll take anything that's easy to carry off.

    alenhard -

Actually yes, I have...my youngest is 13 so it's been a couple of years...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I live in the country, the nearest house is at least 1/2 mile away and I am 15 miles from the nearest town...no one just "happens by" my house, and no one walks down our road, so if someone or something is messing around outside...they or it shouldn't be there...and is either getting shot or shot at...

Last summer a car pulled into our drive way around 3:30 am....2 people got out and were taking a piss...I slid my bedroom window up (up stairs bedroom)...layed my 30-30 out the window and cracked off 2 rounds (in their direction but not at them) and then yelled "who's out there???" As soon as those 2 shots went off, you should have seen those guys trying to get back in that car while trying to stop pissing....LOL...I bet they pissed all over themselves...my wife and I laughed for hours, she was watching from the other bedroom window.

probably out drinking...had to stop to piss on the way home...I've been there myself...

strange...I have not seen that car since...

  17. Just got rid of my old Ford Fiesta after it got broken into 5 times in about as many months. No one could steal it as it had an immobiliser installed in it - just turns off the electricity to the fuel pump, still turns over but will not start. Both doors broke over the course of time as they bend the frames down to get in. I had had the car the best part of a decade but with both doors not shutting correctly it was getting wet inside so it had to go.

Heck, I never even lock my truck...old 1991 GMC no matter where I park it.
Paint is chipping off, windshield is cracked...it has been worked hard and looks it....

I figure no self respecting thief would steal it.

  20. Ironically, when I lived in Southern California, I NEVER shut the windows in the back of the house...it was just safer in Orange County. In Central California, it's meth infested and the scumballs abound...

A car broken into is bad news to any driver. Sorry to hear about this.

My panel van was broken into once in a secluded spot just outside the city of Sydney. I was training in a Broadway Gym on a Sunday morning at the time.

I was lucky, only the left side window was smashed in and the hydraulic jack was taken and everything else not touched including an expensive stereo CD/radio and speakers.

A very weird crime and he forgot the lever of the stolen item. What a useless tool without it.

I got back to the van just in time and quickly left the area for the window replacement that day. The hydraulic Jack was replaced the following day at a minimum of cost. The cost to me was minimal and the incident wasn’t reported to police.

A year later, an attempt break in occurred with a broken key lock on the driver door and this was more costly to fix.

This happened at the local shopping center and they now hire extra security for car theft and break in.

I was unable to open the door as the key became jammed due to the damage. A car repairer fixed it for me the next day with a new lock and key.

Car crime is pretty bad in my area especially near the railway station when the driver is usually at work or shopping.

  22. I lived in a small town in Missouri and on Thanksgiving day about 15 years ago, somebody broke into my truck, stole 73 cents out of the ashtray and a sad attempt at trying to steal the radio (which was a stock tape player for the truck).

I (and others) pretty much knew who did it, however, we never got a chance to even the score as the person that "did it" passed away while trying to break into someone elses car of natural causes. Apparently when a bullet pops you between the eyes, naturally, you die.

I dont think the punishment fits the crime and I am sorry that a person died (obviously, this statement is being made SEVERAL years after the incident).

13 years ago I bought my first brand new car..... farking thing was broken into ummm 6 times in the first 6 months...3 times @ work and 3 times @ home.....first few times they stole my music cds and cut the wire for my car alarm....the worse was when they broke both of my door locks and made a farking hole on each door.....had to have it repaired and of course my insurance went up....at one point I wanted them to just steal the damn thing so I could have the car insurance pay off the car loan...well last may the damn car was broken into again but this time they broke the passenger door lock and created another farking hole along the door lock.....mfers stole umm a farkin parking gargage card...probably thought it was a mfer bank atm card...LMao!........but dang the farkers stole my grey flannel jacket I bought that had sentimental value to me....I didn't fix the door lock cuz I figured why should I when someone will probably break in again....I aint spending money on fixing it.... as long as the car engine is maintained that's all that matters to me....by the way I got a honda civic hb.....I don't want it stolen no more cuz I won't get nothing from the car insurance...And I ain't buying a new car till this one runs into the ground and dies....LMao!

strangest car robbery I ever heard of happened to my friend...who lives in a town...

They broke into his truck through the sliding rear window and stole the air conditioning vents out of the dash. Didn't take the radio or anything else...just the vents??? LOL...he thought it was me...because I do things like take all the tires off and put them in the bed of the truck. Disconnect the driveshaft...things like that.

    Insurance paid for it though.

Somebody broke into my parent's home years ago, stole a broken tv, microwave that didn't quite work right, and a pair of year-old (likely flat and fizz-less) Dr Pepper 12-packs.

The broken window was what pissed us off.

  27. Weirdest robbery I've heard of was my neighbours house being broken into down the road and the playstation being played but neither it or anything else stolen.

I've never had my car broken into (touch wood) which is suprising seeing the number of times its been left accidently unlocked by me or a friend when we go to places like shopping centres.

Then again, my car is nothing special apart from the stereo and when I installed that I made sure to do a stealth installation and use a bunch of different screw heads so that if they try to get anything out it'll slow them up.

Doesn't really bother me if it does get broken into, it's fully insured plus if it gets broken into at work I can claim money from the company I work for and the shopping centre it's located in.
