I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to make the ATI MMC software write mpeg files that have the field order set to B instead of A.

The editing software I am using to re-encode the video after capturing assumes you are using a DV type source signal and when you do the final output of the video...it re-encodes...you end up with a file that has been encoded with the wrong field order. The software I am using does not have an option to select the field order of your source file, and sets it to B field first with no way to change it.

Is there something in the registry you can change to have it create files with a B field first rather than A field first to make it compatible with DV editing software?

Please don't tell me to capture in dv format to begin with...this takes up too much drive space, and I don't have time to fiddle with the computer for hours and hours to try and get it to work correctly with another capturing program or codec.

    Thanks

That's hard coded into the capture. Some cards grab A, some B.

    Change software. OR change cards.
