    Hi,

I've tried loading a sequence of VOBs into the timeline in Womble (trial) as a trial (actuall many different VOB sets). It consistently causes video jerkiness or dropped frames (including audio) in the output as it crosses a VOB boundary. In a few cases case it dropped 2-3 sec at the end of one VOB and 2-3 sec at the beginning of the next.

I've been very careful to place them tightly together, and it doesn't seem possible to make them overlap, so I don't think this is the answer.

Are you merging MPEGs after conversion from VOBS (including cutting) or is there something else I'm missing.

    Thanks

    Allan

Did you right click on the timeline and set "clear all gaps?" That should fix the jerkiness problem. Are the clips all the same setting? I use clips from my Panasonic DVD recorder and edit out the commercials. When I save the clips, all parts are the same specs, therefore no skips, out of sync errors, etc. If you are saving different clips with different specs, this might cause problems...

You'll have problems if you edit on the deck first, then transfer to RAM then edit again with Womble on the comp. If you edit on the recorder (other than at the beginning or end of the file), you'l destroy the GOP structure. This will definitely cause out of sync errors when attempting to edit again using Womble. I no longer edit on the deck at all. It's used for capping only...

    Hi there,

I had exactly this problem a while back when I was backing up my first season of star trek TNG. My solution was to run the vobs through vobedit first and join them then use the resulting single vob in womble with no problems.

I think you'll find most of the information in this guide
