Yeah I have a file in Mpeg format and I wanted to remove the watermark so I opened the virtual dub mod to import MPEG2. I tried to frameserve it to TMPG and it said illegal steam format. Is that because it is in mpeg format or because I did something wrong. Thank you!!

Yes, this can be done. I'm assuming you already installed the handler by running auxSetup.exe. You might want to try raising the prioroty of the Directshow File Reader in Options>Environmental Settings>VFAPI Plugin.

So you can do this even with an MPEG file? I keep getting this illegal steam format errors??

I'll say it again, yes you can do it. Did you already install the handler? Did you change the VFAPI settings like I suggested?
