  1. i got theTMPGEnc program to encode a VCD and put it on a DVD. It worked the first time with out a hitch. But when I went to encode the second part I tried doing the same way as the first part and it me a error. It said that the file cannot be open or is unsuported. I don't understand this because I am doing it the same way as the first setion and it is the same file type. Please tell me of the reason it does this and how to fix it if it is fixable.

    Dear kg4ooz in Kentucky,

Your message may seem logical to you, but it is not to me. It gives too little information.

    A. No AVI or MPG is exactly like any other.

    B. What do you give TMpgEnc to create a VCD of? Is it an MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or AVI file, and is the latter "original" AVI (which comes in Gb's for a comparatively short recording time) or MPEG-4 encoded AVI, like DivX, XviD, 3ivX or what have you? They all have their particular problems.

    B. If it is MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, the standard procedure in case TMpgEnc refuses it, is to load the file into VirtualDub-MPEG2, save out the audio as a WAV file, frameserve the video to TMpgEnc and feed TMpgEnc the WAV file for audio. (Don't use the Wizard..)

Look for Guides about FrameServing in other parts of this Site.

Hope this helps at least a little.
