  1. i've downloaded the latest drivers etc. and my colour fading problem that i suffered from before has now been corrected but i've still got a few more problems that occur. these are:
-when capturing @ 12MBit/sec [max.quality], say for example i'm capturing a 4 min music video, i will get a scrambling effect that occurs a few times on my captured footage. why is this?
-also, sometimes the audio "stutters" at various times of the captured footage. any idea why?
-finally,as mentioned above i d/l the latest drivers & now i notice there are more settings you can capture at ie.2 12MBit/s, various svcd outputs etc. can someone either explain to me or give me a link that explains all these new vid capture settings?

    thks in advance.

  4. Hi,

My advice on the first two is that it sounds as if DMA is not turned on for your hard drives. Make sure the drive you capture to has DMA turned on.

I have not loaded the latest drivers. It sounds as if all of the "hacks" people have found were finally put in the actually driver.

If SHS's site was running, it would have all of that info in it.

  5. I use the PVR PCI to Capture MPEG2 only at these settings so I can make a perfect SVCD.

MPEG2, Constate, 2520 Bitrate, throttle 0.70, audio 44100 at 192, I then use TMPGE to Demux the finished product so I will have a SVCD Compliant CD-R.
I am using WIN98 Gold, I have WIN2000 Professional but affraid to upgrade at this point because everything is working perfect.

  7. I have a PVR, and I find the only way to get a really decent cap is to capture to an AVI and re encode from there, long way and you need lots of HD space, but it comes out better in the end

Follow this link to an excellent PVR forum. I own one and I'm disgusted at its performance and the fact that it's still on sale.
