I have an ATI AIW card. I was using the old MMC 6.0 software to capture mpeg files. I burned these files into vcd using nero 5.5.5.1. Although they were not VCD Compliant, but I was still able to play the files on my computer & my DVD Player.

After reading the "How To" section, I followed the instructions and downloaded all the softwares and installed MMC7.1 on my computer. Now all my new VCD's are VCD compliant.

The problem is now my computer is unable to read the old non-compliant VCD's I made prior to the software upgrade. Even Window Media Player will not read these files.

I copy the .dat files from the old VCD's to the hard drive, and rename them to .mpg files, then I tried to use TmpgEnc to convert them to VCD compliant. But the system hangs up and I am unable to read these files still.

Can anyone show me how I can read these files again and convert them to vcd compliant?
