  1. I've received just a black screen on some of the video files I've encoded through tmpgenc. The software claims that the encode has succeeded and the files are the correct duration they are meant to be but are just black. Any ideas why?

  3. There are sometimes conflicting decoding files. So there might be 3 different decoders for MPEG2, and you need to force the SW to use the different decoder.

    Goto Options/Enviornment Settings and pick VFAPI Plugins.

    You will have to read thru all the different listings to see which apply to the file you are trying to read. Experiment with moving each of the potential options (just the ones that apply to your need, no need to do ALL) to the highest priority. Depending on which SW I use to capture from my device I have to pick either Directshow or AVI VFW to have the highest priority, so I never have the perfect setting as default because I used different capture SW for different needs.
