  1. I have a DVD that I ripped and now have the VOB files. Hows the best way to burn the VOB files to a DVD now? Ive tried using Nero using DVD-Video and tried both copying the VIDEO_TS directory and just tried placing the files in the directory. I keep getting errors reguardless of the version of Nero Im running. Should I try another program, if so which?

    Will DVDDecrypter do this? I know it rips a DVD to VOB files but will it burn them back to a DVD?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Yes Decrypter will do that.

    Seaarch in the guides to the left for Decrypter or for how to backup a DVD.

    Essentially you need to rip from hard drive using either 'File' or ISO - Read'.

    Then you need to burn with 'ISO - Write'

    I use DVD Shrink first to ensure the files will fit on a DVD-R (limited to 4.7Gb) Thene Nero to create ISO file. Then DVD Decrypter to write to disc.

    Use DVD Shrink to open your VOB file. If it does not open, you have files missing that you cannot burn under NERO.

    If you have only vob files you need to create ifo and bup files. A program called IFOEDIT will create the required ifo and bup files. You will need to re-name the vob files = VTS_01_1.VOB,etc.
    DVD Shrink does have problems opening files created with IFOEDIT however.

  6. Sorry for the mixup. I do have those files and the VOB files.
    Example: I took a 1-Layer DVD ripped it with DVDDecrypter to the H/D.
    Now Im wanting to burn it back to a DVD-R.

    I think zworg2 said DVDDecrypter will do this, so Ill try and see if I can figure it out if so.

    Hi,

    if it is a single layer DVD and you simply want to copy it;

    Use DVD Decrypter and follow the following instructions (you do not need the files already on your HD)

    1) Mode Menu ---> ISO ----> Read
    2) set destination folder
    3) click the button to start and wait a bit.
    4) Mode Menu ----> ISO ----> Write
    5) set source folder (same as destination earlier)
    6) click to go and wait again....

    done

    7) watch the copy to make sure

    (NB. Decryter is not infalable and has more problems ripping than other apps, but it is VERY easy to use.)

    Hope that makes sense....
