Is that a statement or a problem?Dvd can be copied on fat32 if you just rip the files and not merge them into single files over 4 gigs.

  3. Not a problem, you can even do ISO image over 4G with AUTOShrinkISO if you choose the "split image" option.

What the hell does FAT32 have to do with the problem? Did I miss something here? Would someone please pour me another vodka!

It must be a virus going around then Housepig....I had several DVDs on my FAT32 drives before I converted them to NTFS.....whewwwwww....good thing I converted....I don't know what I would have done with all of those ISO and VIDEO_TS folders on that FAT32 drive.....

  7. Then everybody did something beyond the norm, because everything I try, fails to rip, decrypt or shrink.

You should be able to handle DVDs on a FAT32 drive. But we're gonna need a lot more information to figure out what's wrong. Walk us through what you've done and let's see where the problem is.

    maybe your drive is defective...

I had no problem ripping (either to .vobs or .iso files), shrinking (with DVD2One) or burning (with Nero) on a Win98 system. I've since switched to an XP/NTFS box, but all of the discs I made on the 98 box still work perfectly.

go step by step - do your rips play correctly from the hard drive? do they still play properly after being shrunk? do your burns go all the way, or do they fail in the burn? do your discs work right on the computer, but not in your standalone?

being more specific about the tools & methods you are using would be of more help than a one line "FAT32 must be my problem!" post... I mean, if you've narrowed it down to FAT32, change your file system!

  10. I just tried decrypter for the umpteenth time...didn't work.
    cyclic redundancy error.

  11. If you'd have reported the error you got in the first place you'd have got much more helpful replies :P

This is a hardware error with your hard drive try scandisk to see what damage you have but look at replacing it ASAP.

Make sure to play a little of the movie to AUTHENTICATE
    the DVD before ripping
no matter what file system you are on!
if you are new (never done yer 1st rip) this is often the solution
although the error message is usually dirfferent
    cyclic redundancy error.

Or its a fault on the actual DVD (scratch/dirt etc). Try ripping a brand new, fresh out of the box store bought DVD.

  15. bugster you are correct.

I've just assumed more than one DVD had been tried based on the statement "Absolutly no dvd's can be copied with FAT32 !"

  16. Sometimes it just the version of the program & the operating system.

But if people posted their specs first it would save us a ton of time.
