first of all, if i'm in the wrong forum, sorry, but i dunno where it fits. so i ripped the mpg off VCD, now i want it in mp3, i used TMPG with toolame but there was no sound. is there anyother software? does DB power amp work? if it does, plz tell me how to work it cuz i can't open mpgs w/ it.

TooLAME is a MPEG-1 Layer-2 encoder. If you want to encode to MPEG-1 Layer-3, install LAME and use it like toolame as an external encoder.
I suggest to decompress the VCD audio to .wav before reencoding. File> output to file> WAVE file.
Load the .wav as audio source. Check "Layer-3" and browse lame.exe. Select "audio only" and start.
To use the full flexibility of LAME I suggest to use it from the command line console or the AZID_LAME_GUI by DanniDin.
