  1. After downloading some movies from Kazaa and DirectConnect, the movies contains some bad sections where the video fails to play. Causing an error in Windows Media Player or continues to play but about 100 frames are all distorted in blocky squares and weird colours.

When I analyze that file in DivFix, it picks up the errors, is there any other way of restoring the file without re-downloading it?
If you think you have it... but you don't.

All DivFix will do is delete the bad parts. Restoring them isn't going to happen.

  3. Eh? It seems that the video plays fine now. Could it be that I rebuilt the index and restarted my computer?

More than likely the bad frames were deleted, and yes the index was rebuilt. It could be that there were so few bad frames that deleting them goes unnoticed during playback. Consider yourself very lucky. The video gods are smiling down upon you.
