Not sure what category this post best fits, so I'm putting it here.

I've downloaded a couple of SVCD movies. I've renamed the bin files as .mpg and used TMPGENC Plus to a) merge them and b) de-mux them. I've then used DVD Patcher to fool the authoring software by changing the resolution in the m2v file from 480x480 to 352x480. I've then used BeSweet to "downsample" the mp2 file from 44.1KHz to 48KHz, using the default "mp2-DVD" profile. When I then try and author the DVD using my .m2v and .mp2 files, I always get an "invalid adio file" message, reagrdless of which authoring tool I use and regardless of what original SVCD movie I try it with. I assume the problem is with the BeSweet step, because if I let the authoring software transcode the audio for me, it works. The trouble is the authoring software is taking ages to author when I ask it to convert the audio stream for me. Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong / what settings I should use with BeSweet? I know there are alternative software packages out there, but I'm keen to stick with what I've got as my brain is reaching information overload, tryingto establish the best way of doing this. I think I'm going to stick with TMPGENC DVD Author as my authoring tool as it seems straightforward enough.
