  1. I want to put a MPEG1 file of 772 MB on one disk. I read every where at this site that one CD can store about 800 MB when used for VCD. I burn with Nero. Nero says that the file won´t fit on the CD, which is Vivastar 80 min, 700MB CD-R. How can you burn more than 700 MB on a 80 min CD. Do i have to format or something? Please help.

    Search Comp PM
Ín Nero select New Compilation, scroll down and select "VideoCD". Drag and drop the MPEG1 file to the track window.
A video cd can contain more data than a data cd, because it uses less space for error correction. It also helps to read the guides on this site. Click AUTHOR on the left.

Just select "Video-CD" instead of "CDROM(iso)".

  5. That is exactly what i am doing. Problem is maybe that it is an extended vcd, Nero thinks the file is more than 85 minutes, while in fact it is only 51 minutes. Therefore Nero concludes it doesnot fit maybe.

  6. I had the same problem the other day i couldnt fit 13th warrior on a vcd and it was only 716MB and i burned Miss congeniality on a cd and it was 797MB...Couldnt figure out y nero or any other program thought it was bigger then it was...I encoded both avi's seperately to mpg at a lower bitrate so i could fit the movie on 1 cd and the encodeing went great....But then i used tmpgenc to join them...I left it on automatic thinking it would know what to do....The file size didnt change at all but when trying to burn it was showing it was way oversized...If ur having pretty much the same problem i have and The size is under 800MB then i would start thinking about what u did after the encoded it...The reason i say after encode cuz if u encode it wrong u usually find out pretty quick because of the file size...If u encoded nonstandard then make sure when u join/cut make sure its also nonstandard cuz tmpg doesnt know when its on automatic...good luck
