    can anyone please tell me why I can't play mpeg4 video on my winxp pro

    I can play all other movies ( xvid , ecc )

    try downloading ffdshow from the tools section. if that doesn't work is it possible you have a Nero Digital MP4 file? I'm thinking those can only be played in Nero Showtime.

    Quicktime and Quicktime Alternative (with Media Player Classic) can both handle MP4 files.
