I have been capturing video with an ATI 8500DV AIW card, and using the AIW software to converting on line to mpeg-2 as per lordsmurf. My best quality is not as good as the original video. My question is: Is it possible to filter MPEG-2 files without converting the files to AVI, and if so which ones?
I tried capturing through the ATI card into TMPEGEnc. and converting to MPEG2, a 6 to 10 hour process. Results were not noticeably better for a grossly increased work load. It may have been worse.
