  1. Hi.

I've bought a pile of printable 8x Datasafe media. When I'm about to burn to one the burning application (all of them) only allows 4x. The media ID is :

Now, I couldn't give a rats ass whether they burn at 4x, 6x or 8x, speed isn't any issue. But what I'm wondering is does this mean the nec doesn't have a proper writing strategy for this media in its current firmware yet and defaults to a generic strategy ? (using the shipped 1.06). And if so, could this possibly mean a "poor burn" ?

  2. Well, I burned one of them to test and even if the nec itself can't read it properly nero dvd-speed shows a most perfect curve when scanning it, so can't be all that bad. Also plays as it should in my daewoo player.
