  1. ok, i have been looking on this site and around the net to accomplish this:

I have a 6 episode disk that i want to backup. It is almost 8gigs with no extras. What i want to do is to take 4 episodes off the disk, reauthor a disk with a new menu and subtitles.

I have been able to use nero recode to take 4 epsiodes with subtitles and it works fine but has no menu. I have created a TS folder with everything in it but i do not know where to go from here.

I have tried several programs that either give me the menu or give me the subs. Can someone please help me!! I am about to lose my mind.

    Thanks

What I would do is rip the episodes you want off the original, and demux them to .m2v and audio files (most likely AC3), some authoring programs will accept VOB files, so you wouldn't need to demux them, but you would need to extract the subtitles, then use a DVD authoring program like DVD-Lab to create a new DVD with menus that you like, then use IfoEdit to add the subtitles back in.

Here is a guide on how to use IfoEdit to add subtitles to your DVD: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/197950.php

  4. Why not use DVD Shrink and compress the two unwanted episodes to still pictures? The rest of the DVD will be intact just as on the original, subtitles and all.

  5. I could do that with shrink, the problem is that i want to take the 5 and 6th episode and cobine them with 2 more from another disk. This makes 2 disks with 4 episodes each.

    Good idea though.

  6. Making still pictures out of te whole episodes will then be quite large still, youll have astill picture for every gop so that's quite a few. Recomend not doing it this way, if you rip to 4 each probably you can have no recompresison at al which would be hella c0o.

  7. I would do what j1d10t posted, but use tmpgenc dvd author. you can import vob clips in without having to demux audio and video.

PS. is this an anime series?

That again would work however if i have 2 episodes that won't fit and i want to combine them with 2 other from another disk, i need to make a new menu.

This is the problem. I have not found an easy way to reauthor with subs and a new menu.

    Thanks for the idead though

I thought that was the idea.
