splitting and coverting the 2nd half of a file to svcd

hi ,

ive used TMPGEnc and DVD2SVCD to convert divx to svcd.....only for the first section of the film CD1
how do i split a file at the point where i need it and convert it to svcd.......( for CD2 )

ive tried in vain but either end up with no sound OR really badly out of sync

1. Load file into VirtualDub.

2. Select "Direct stream copy" for both audio and video.

3. File|Save segmented AVI

4. Set file segment size (695 meg - I don't like to push it too close to the limit).

5. Then let it go.
