    I'm a bit confused. Does the AVerMedia DVD EZMaker capture in mpeg2 or AVI or both? I want something that will capture direct from Beta/VHS tape to mpeg2 so I can burn direct to a DVD with Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 without having to render anything.

    you can find more info on the card over in the "capture card" section by searching there on "ezmaker" ...

    As to your roxio s/w, I believe it's one of those packages that is set up to re-encode, no matter what. You might want to do an all-forum search for other comments - use the program's name.
    Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping...
