    A tip:

    Before you flash it, see if it is recognized by the burning app.

    Nero 5.5.10.54 saw mi 811s, but it crapped out. Swapped it for an 851, flashed as soon as I installed it, Nero can't see it, unsupported, though Nero's site says it was with the original firmware. Tried 6xxx demo, and it's back among the living.
