  1. Using Canopus as was told it gives good results and can convert between file types without too much user intervention!

I have some avi and mpeg files that I wish to convert to DVD files (Vob etc) and have used Canoups to produce them. However when I try and load the files into Nero to burn it says they are in the incorrect format and refuses to burn them. Tried to open them up in DVD Shrink and this produces the same response so what am I doing wrong or should I ditch Canopus and try another utility? The original files play fine so I know they are ok.....

Thanks for any help, have done a search but nothing specific to my problem was found!

  2. In canopus procoder what did you select as your output filetype. Canopus will produce the compliant mpeg file, the vobs are created when you author for DVD, what are you using to author.

  3. Selecting DVD as the output filetype which I thought produced files ready to burn straight to dvd? It produces the VideoTS folder and the vob files etc which I thought was all that was needed.

Do I need to use a seperate utility to re-author the files somehow?

    Thanks!

Not when I use it it does'nt. It outputs an m2v file and a wav file which need to be authored. I have only just started using it though so have not explored all of its features.

Yes you need to author the video file before it can be burned to DVD. Authoring creates the audioTS and videoTS folders. You can then burn these folders and their contents to DVD.
