  1. Can anyone answer me this .

I have the latest version of Tmpgenc and installed this onto my pc. Fantastic i thought especially since the conversion speed was upped dramatically to less than real time whereas before it would take nearly double real time.

Ok did a reformat of pc , re-installed TmpgEnc and the conversion time is crawling again .

Can anyone explain this to me what is the reasoning behind this ?

  2. never heard of TMPGEnc Plus doing a typical encode faster than real time.

While much depends on selected encoding settings and CPU clock speed, my typical encoding time tp process a captured avi to mpg-2 with 2 pass VBR runs around 4 hrs for every one hr clip length...

  3. Maybe you had the Motion Search Precision set to a fast/low quality setting previously, and now that you've re-installed the setting has defaulted to a slower/high quality mode....

Click the Settings button and look at the MPEG Settings' Video tab to check.

    Martin.
