Ok I just got my DVR-107 and I need some help.
What programs should I use to extract from a dvdr. Then make a new dvd and burn it. I know some of you have a certain combo of programs that work best for you.
Right now Im using DVD Decrypter. Then DVD Lab to make menus and set up the DVD. Then Nero to burn it.
I have all the programs like DVD X Copy but dont know which ones I should be using.

You can do one stop shopping by using DVD Shrink software. It rips and transcodes (compresses). You can shrink the whole movie, including the menus and extras. Or, you can just use the main movie and get rid of the menus and the extras.
The price is right. It's free, thanks to Dr. Shrink. You can find it in the tools section on the left side of your screen. There are also many guides for it, although recently there have been a lot of new versions coming out. I don't know how up to date the guides are. But you will get the idea what to do. There are lots of people here to help.
You made a good choice with the Pioneer 107D. -
If you want to copy from a DVDR then just use any software and do a simple disc copy, as a DVDR will not have any encryption so ripping is not necessary.

I have just recently started using Easy Media Creator 7 (The upgrade to Easy CD/DVD Creator 6) from Roxio. This program, along with AnyDVD allows me to copy and burn any DVD I put into it. I can copy movie only or the whole DVD. The quality is exellent and with Flashman's Firmware http://flashman.rpc-1.com/ I can burn Ritex 4x at a blazing 8x on DVD-R's. I can now rip and burn a 3 hour film )Lord Of The Rings in just under 1 hour. Excellent!!! Take Note: If you flash your DVD Writer, be sure you read the instructions carefully and change the DVD Drive letter if necessary.

thanks for the info. Which files shoulda I download to "flash" my burner? Also can you reccomend a program for creating the best Menus? I want a moving menu, are there any templates?

Go to
http://flashman.rpc-1.com/Firmware/PIONEER/
and download the file for the 107D. As far as programs for creating menus Media Creator 7 will do basic menus but I really don't get into all that. I'm sure someone else will have some suggestions for that.
