Problems with NEC 1300a firmware update

Hi, i updated the firmware on my NEC 1300a dvd burner from 1.07 to 1.09. Now whenever windows is detecting the burner the system restarts. I desperately need some asistance. DOes anyone know what the problem is? can the update be reversed? Thanks.

System: athlon 2200+, 512ddr, geforce fx 5600xt, Windows xp sp1.

I have the NEC ND 1300a and I've never had to do it but my understanding is that you can install a previous firmware. I haven't checked but is 1.09 the latest?

You mean that every time you start your computer windows said that "a new thingie detected, please reboot"? I had that, rebooted once, it came up again, and I said "no" the second time.

So just hit no and then see if your burner works (it should), or update your firmware to 1.0A (the latest)

I'm using the following hacked firmware. It allows you to change your bit settings. This is the first dual format drive to do that I beleive. (could be wrong)
