    Can I get a recommendation for a progressive DVD player with (X)SVCD support? Which is the best and most reliable? Thanks

    i dont know which is the best or the worst but i know that i got a pioneer 434 this saturday and it had progressive thing( what ever it does i dont know) with xsvcd support( i know it does because i used xsvcds on it on sunday) and i am completely satisfied with it.

    I too have a DV-434 and absolutely love it. However, the progressive scan feature of this unit is pretty poor. I didn't buy mine specifically for PS, but anyone who has a high priority for a PS [player (like they want to match it up with a PS TV), then they will be disappointed with the 434.

    The Apex-800 is a progressive scan DVD player that can play SVCD. I saw some reviews that this DVD has an "True Progressive Scan".
