need help, HiVal DVD burner writing speed is not right

need help, i got a HiVal DVD Burner.
my writing speed is 2X but it is suppose to be 4X.
dvdrw speed works fine.2.4X.
my dvdrs are BestMedia Platinum 4x and it only burns 2x.
i use nero 6 to burn my dvds.
any suggestions to increase my speed from 2X to 4X? thanks

You need to determine what OEM model your HiVal burner is and check that manufacturer's site to see if you need a firmware update.

Many burners will not handle 4x media properly without the latest firmware.
