    Finally I managed to transcode (TMPGEnc) and burn (Nero) a high quality XVCD that works on my DVD-Player(Pioneer DV 343). It plays back fine in a resolution of 720X576. However when I hit slow motion on my remote it doesn´t play every Frame but skips a few. When I hit the Pause button it sometimes stop immediately or plays a few more frames before it pauses.
    What did I do wrong? Any option in TMPGEnc that I might have forgotten?

    nothing in encoding parameters...i get the same thing with xvcds

    I get the same thing with SVCD's at 480x480

    Playing works great..but fast-forward and reverse are hosed!!

    does outputting one sequence header after EVERY GOP resolve this?

    to some extent....fixes the pause but ff or rw are still choppy
