Hi all,
I did some encoding with mixed succes, but I've been pulling my hair on this one.
I've downloaded several xvid avi files (res 608x336) from a famous series and try to convert them in mpeg using vdub and frame serve it into tmpgenc.
Everything goes right except that in the output file the resolution seems not to be right... the actors look elongated! although the resolution is set to 352x240.
I've tried several settings in tmpgenc according to what I read in this forum. Nothing helped.
Your comments would be most welcome.

It can be one of 2 things. It's encoded that way (incorrectly) or your source settings are wrong. Your source is 1:1 VGA (it's an AVI after all). It's also in a 16:9 proportion. You going to need to letterbox it some before you re-size it to avoid the skinny heads. Alternately you can cut some off the sides and re-size it as well.
