The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has swept the Oscars, winning all 11 categories in which it was nominated, including Best Picture (the first time a fantasy film has won) and Best Director (for Peter Jackson). It beats the previous sweeps record-holder, Gigi (9 wins in 9 categories), and ties Titanic and Ben Hur for the most Oscar wins.

  3. Susan Sarandon came very close to having a Janet Jackson moment on stage...did ya catch that bit

That dress was ready to give - and I think Billy Crystal had more exposure in th opening number doing a Something's Gotta Give parody.
Bet that won't make any headlines though

No one caught the Jack Valenti jokes about downloading movies

Thought that would be the topic of discussion when I logged on...but guess not many bothered to watch

Someone should use that as a defense in court - Jack gets paid well for those kind of punchlines

Didn't watch it. When they announced that they're not going to limit the time of acceptance speeches, I thought "great ......just what I want to hear - a bunch of political comments." No thanks :P

  5. Don't watch the oscars for the same reason I don't go down to the local bowls club for their awards night. It's just people getting awards and thanking people, what's the point in watching it?

Yep, just shows what a sham the oscars are.

    Exactly my sentiments.

You mean you think getting millions of dollars a year is enough? You don't think they should also be pat on the back every 6 weeks by each other, and be allowed to hurt their backs taking bows???

  7. Since we the movie-going public don't vote on them, I don't give a shit about them.

Once again pointing out that the Oscars are crap and the voters are sheep who vote for whatever movie gets the most press (I predict Passion of the Christ, another stupid ass movie, will win next year).

11...wow. Arent there only 14 categories? I'd love to know how they can drag out 14 awards for 3 whole hours. I hate award shows.

Say it's not you, Charlize Never underestimate the power of makeup (I'd still throw her some pipe for ole glory - I'd just insist she put on her makeup first )
Here are a few more classics (don't look at these before your first cup of coffee :

Pamela actually looks better in the "before" pic In the other pic she looks like an inflatable clown

They're kidding, right? Wasn't this film the one with Ben and J-Lo? If I remember, it had a run life of about 5 days in my area... they couldn't GIVE tickets away for that flick...

    what a farce....
