The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has swept the Oscars, winning all 11 categories in which it was nominated, including Best Picture (the first time a fantasy film has won) and Best Director (for Peter Jackson). It beats the previous sweeps record-holder, Gigi (9 wins in 9 categories), and ties Titanic and Ben Hur for the most Oscar wins.

Yep, just shows what a sham the oscars are.
Willtgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
Susan Sarandon came very close to having a Janet Jackson moment on stage...did ya catch that bit
That dress was ready to give - and I think Billy Crystal had more exposure in th opening number doing a Something's Gotta Give parody.
Bet that won't make any headlines though
No one caught the Jack Valenti jokes about downloading movies
Thought that would be the topic of discussion when I logged on...but guess not many bothered to watch
Someone should use that as a defense in court - Jack gets paid well for those kind of punchlines -
Didn't watch it. When they announced that they're not going to limit the time of acceptance speeches, I thought "great ......just what I want to hear - a bunch of political comments." No thanks :P

Don't watch the oscars for the same reason I don't go down to the local bowls club for their awards night. It's just people getting awards and thanking people, what's the point in watching it?
Yep, just shows what a sham the oscars are.

You mean you think getting millions of dollars a year is enough? You don't think they should also be pat on the back every 6 weeks by each other, and be allowed to hurt their backs taking bows???
-
Since we the movie-going public don't vote on them, I don't give a shit about them.
