converting avi to 4.7 dvd

I am having trouble coverting a avi file to fit on a 4.7 dvd using TMPGEnc the smallest i can get it is about 5.5 gig any ideas

for starters, you may want to post a little more info than that. Try posting what your source is and then tell us what you are trying to achieve. Mpeg1 or 2...audio settings blah blah blah. You dont need to go too in depth, just the basics will do.

Second, you must tweak your settings until you get what you want.
