  1. I hava a DivX file with this resolution and want to convert it to MPEG-2 but thatīs no standard DVD resolution.

Can I convert it as is and then use DVD Patcher to make dvd player think itīs a standard 704x576? Because image ratio is fine and to make it to standard resolution a big part of the outside of the image is lost.

    Anyone ever tried this?

  2. Use TMPGEnc to convert to a DVD compliant file. It will properly resize the video to an acceptable framesize.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Just needed to tune some settings.

  4. Try loading a DVD template and choosing a 16:9 source aspect ratio and full screen (keep aspect ratio) as video arrangement method.
TMPGEnc will add black borders to correct aspect ratio.
Well, 704x400 seems to be an intermediate Aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9. So, you could use crop to correct it.

  5. Your thingy will either have to be letterboxed into a 4:3 screen or cropped. Crop to maintai rsolution, letterbox to maintain all of the video (no chopping bottoms etc) but loose res. Personally, since you'll only loose a few px from both sides (top & bottom) i would just use the chop routine.

  7. Pointless...you wouldn't even notice a difference between 704x576 and 720x480. I dont understand what you are worrying about.
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--
