  1. Hi

I have a 2gb mpg movie file, I want to cut it so that premiere can handle it, is there a program that can cut my movie and without modifying its quality?

    Thanks

  2. ive never used premier myself, though to cut up a large mpeg file for use in other apps i use tmpgenc trial can be downloaded free, go to the file menu and mpeg tools and theres an option to merge or cut the file, works for me, as usual others will probably have a better way for u if they know more about premier

premiere is awefull at editing mpeg2 -- if you can even import it .

better to convert it to DV (version 6.5 or 7) or frame serve it to premiere .. as it would be re-encoded anyway.

  5. How would I go and turn it into DV? I can't seem to find the guide here.

I found the guide to frame serve it but it only does it from premiere to tmpegenc, and not form a mpg file to premiere.

Basically I have to edit a 2 hr movie and make a sort of trailer of it.

I cut a 3 min piece with tmpeg, and I need to edit several parts but when I preview what I edit it takes 20 min!

Is there anything else I can do?

    THanks

load it into virtualdubMOD and frame serve it or re-render the portions you need
