Hello,
I haven't had the opportunity to check this out or not, but I was told that if I recorded material on any speed past "M2", that even if my disks were finalized, they would not play on another DVD player. Has anyone tried this yet? I have dubbed some material for a friend on 4 an 6 hour modes and don't know wether it will play on another DVD player. I was told that anything over two hour speed would not work. Any help would be appreciated. I just have been too busy to check this out on another player.....
Thanks!!
BTW: I was the one who was having problems with the compatiblity of some -R disks and since I "downgraded" to the original firmware, my problems have ceased. As far as finalizing disks recorded on another recorder, Philips told me there is a "force finalize" procedure that they could walk me through. I'll have to give that a try....

I just put a M4 recording on a +RW from my 75 into my Mustek V520 which will normally play anything I throw at it.
It seemed to read the disc started to count uo (no audio or video , just stayed on the original wallpaper) got to about 6 seconds and stopped. -
AH HAA!!! Let's see if there's a trend here. I hope not. I'd hate to do anything rash like return this thing, because I really like it so far. Thanks for sharing your unfortunate situation.

Most of my recordings are M4, they play on my apex 500 b and w, and Koss kd365 from Sears. Don't know where you heard that, but it's wrong.

Mine won't play on my Afreey LD2060.
"Don't know where you heard that, but it's wrong" A bit of a rash statement IMO!
I guess you should say that it will play on some machines but not all.
Make sure your other player will read +R/+RW discs, not all machines do.
