I've been getting some jerky encodes in Tmpgenc recently (xvid to vcd and 1/2D1) and I think I've narrowed it down to a codec issue.
I had the xvid codec from the Mega codec pack which apparently was crap, then i switched to Koepi's but was forced to install ffdshow as well bc Tmpgenc wouldnt play ball and Procoder rendered the video upside down. So now I have both, ie the latest version of Koepi's codec and ffdshow but don't know which one I should keep, and which one will play ball with most of my programs (i.e. Tmpgenc, DVD2SVCD, Virtualdub, Procoder).
IMHO ffdshow is better, but any thoughts would be appreciated.
DF
PS: If anyone thinks that the jerky encodes (mainly during wide panning shots in the movie) are not due to a codec issue, please let me know bc this is the problem I'm trying to solveThanks.

I find some xvid clips move really jerky so what i do is load the clip into AviC (FourCC Changer) which is installed with the xvid codecs and change it to divx in both fields and apply, after that the clips plays ok.
