  1. I have some exisiting videos mostley AVI format, that i wish to convert over to a DVD format. I have TMP Author which will allow me to ready the MPEG 2 movies for DVD burning.

My problem is that I cant seem to convert any of my videos to MPEG 2 format. I am using TMPEncoder and select the MPEG 2 DVD NTSC Setting, and then I get a "MPEG 2 trial has expired" when i attempt to convert.

I dont know where to get a encoder and dont know exactly what is needed to install it. I have ADOBE PREIMERE and other video programs, wouldnt such a decoder come with these? ...

Please give me some assitance, i am dieing to get these videos to DVD, and suggestions or solutions will be thanked!

    Thanks in advance.

  2. AFAIK, no freeware mpeg-2 encoders are easily/legally available.

suggest you look at buying TMPGEnc Plus (click on the hi-lited name)...

You can try the freeware YMPEG at the tools section. It is said to encode to mpeg1 and mpeg2 directly from VirtualDub and others.
    Good Luck!
