  1. I am converting my movie AVI file (good quality) into a MPEG-2 for SVCD and the result is not very good. Is there a problem with Studio DV? Does anybody have a solution?
    Thanks.

  2. I have Studio DV. I quickly found out that its built-in mpeg encoder is crap. If you are editing home videos best bet is to output as AVI and then convert it to SVCD. Check out the "How To" guide on the left for the tools and procedures.

  3. I also have Studio DV and it does produce some bad mpegs. Your better off exporting to avi and then using tmpg.

  4. I have the same problem. I complain already to Pinnacle, and they suggest me to buy the Studio 7...
I have reply that after spending my money with one product with very bad quality, doesn't make sence to think in that brand any more.
To overcome my problem, I'm looking now for Adobe.
    Regards from Portugal.

Adobe will not solve your problem. They do not include a decent encoder either. TMPGenc seems to be the best alternative.

  6. You get the Panasonic MPEG Encoder Adobe Premiere plug-in for Premiere. It is probably one of the best MPEG-1 encoders out at VCD bitrates (quality is subjective: some people think that Panasonic is better than TMPGEnc at VCD bitrates, some people think the opposite).

In any case, you can use AVISynth to frameserve to TMPGEnc with Premiere.
