  1. I have captured video from a game on my compouter using fraps, and with movie studio created an uncompressed avi NTSC 704X480. When i use this source to create a mpg using tmpgenc, the video i stretched vertically. What settings do i use in order to compensate for the change in resolution that way when played on a dvd player the aspect ratio looks correct? Thnx

My current settings that i used are source as NTSC 4:3 525 704X480 and encode moe is full screen (keep aspect ratio)

Source is always 1:1 for AVI's. There's an exception but only for improper encodes.

When I dabble with svcd I see the picture stretched in TMPGenc .
At the step where in the Advanced Setting you set the aspect ratio of the output I leave it a full screen and when it starts to encode the screen looks correct.

  5. alright ill try to encode with source 1:1, perhaps this would explain the reason why after i did make svcd with the mpeg (encode with source 4:3 704 x 480) that it played all choppy and distorted on my dvd player ?
    thnx :)

  6. i'm kind of confused because your orginal source setting was correct. it should be set to 525 line 4:3, cuz that's what the source actually is. I would set input source to 525 line 4:3, full screen and set output to 4:3 display.

    just a suggestion though.
