  1. I use DVD Shrink to rip the DVD and make it 4.36 gb. and then use CopyToDVD, and about 50% of the time I get this error..

Unable to start the write process - finalization skipped to preserve media
WriteSector failed at sector 16(16) - Code 00 28 00 (No sense information)

and then the blank DVD is unusable since is not an RW. But I can then open the .IFO file with InstantCopy and use that to make it a .pdi and then burn it with DVD decrypter and I don't get any errors, whats the problem ?

It's so much faster to just use DVD Shrink+CopyToDVD, so I'd rather use that if I could get it to not waste my blank DVD's.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Why not just use dvdshrink to burn the disc as well as rip it?

  4. Well i'm not going to sit here making screen caps and drawing little red arrows in paint... but when you click on the 'Backup' button there's an option in to choose your destination drive, pick your dvd writer and it will burn the files to disc after they have been processed.

I think you are confusing the Target Folder for Output Files, with Burning.
DVD Shrink can rip and compress, but it cannot burn.
A seperate progam such as CopytoDVD, Nero or RNM is required for this.

  6. Phil, download the latest version of dvdshrink (3.1.6) and have a look for yourself. I've been using it all day today, it's a great 1 click solution

  7. Ok it seems you need nero installed to use the feature as it borrows the burning engine. But the feature is still present and you don't need to actually load nero up to use it.

Ahh ... I see where you're coming from now, but you are burning with Nero's Burning Engine, not with DVD Shrink. All that DVD Shrink does is access Nero if it's installed.

It wont work for anyone who doesn't have Nero.
